Drift Boss is a one-button game about timing. Bubbleshooter X Basketball 3d is about aiming instead: a classic bubble shooter set on a basketball court in 3D. Two cartoon players stand at the bottom of the court passing colored balls, a pile of red, green and orange bubbles fills the far end, and a hoop hangs above it all.

How it plays

A dotted line shows where the current ball will travel. Move the mouse to change the angle and click to fire, or drag and release on a touchscreen. When the ball touches bubbles of its own color and makes a group of three or more, the group pops, and any bubbles left hanging below it drop as well. The two players take turns: the one not shooting holds the next ball, so you always know which color comes after this one.

The side boards work like cushions. A ball fired at an angle bounces off the wall and can reach a pocket the direct line cannot.

Meters on the screen

• SHOOT meter (top right): fills as you pop bubbles. When it is full, your player shoots at the basket.
• Progress bar (top left): a face marker climbs toward a medal as you clear the field.
• Pause (bottom right) stops the game.

Aiming advice

1. Look at the next ball before firing. If the next color fits a spot better, use the current ball somewhere else.
2. Cut from above. Popping a small group that supports a large overhang drops everything beneath it, which clears much more than popping from the bottom.
3. Use the walls deliberately. Bank shots are the only way into some corners. Aim for a single clean bounce rather than two.
4. Check the line. The aiming line shows the path before you fire, so line up each shot before clicking.

The game is HTML5 with 3D graphics and runs in desktop and Chromebook browsers as well as on phones. There is nothing to install, and a round fits in a short break between Drift Boss runs.
